“EVOLUTION” – Outdoor Optical Sculpture
3m (10ft) tall, SS316 marine-grade mirror polished stainless steel.
#1 in 3m (10ft) tall was exhibited for the first time at Cuadro Gallery, DIFC Dubai November 2008 to June 2009. Now #1 is permanently installed in Switzerland.
#2 in 3m (10ft) tall was exhibited for the first time at the 2015 Boynton Beach International Kinetic Art Exhibition and Symposium.
With this Optical Sculpture, the viewer is the active and moving part, taking in the completely different aspects of the sculpture as they move around it: From the front the sculpture literally disappears as SEE THROUGH among its surrounding.
As the viewer moves, it shows the different reflections of Sky and Earth on the 36 mirror- reflective leaves and a completely different aspect and form.
The inspiration comes from the surprise of actually discovering someone else’s point of view.
