FLAMENCO #2

“FLAMENCO #2” is a 4.2m/14ft kinetic, motor-driven sculpture (5.7m/18.7ft with base), It is fabricated from marine grade stainless steel, powder-coated in Ferrari Red.

FLAMENCO’s abstracted contemporary form is originally inspired by the beautiful and fluid Spanish Flamenco dancers in Spain.

The design in the form of a twisted Helix, which consists of 60 horizontal discs, is elegantly spiraling upwards, as this Kinetic Sculpture rotates around its central vertical axis.

This #2 was commissioned in 2022 for the permanent collection of the City of Qingdao and is now permanently installed in the Sculpture Museum of Qingdao, which overlooks the sea in Shandong Province.

Qingdao is also world famous for their Tsingtao Brewery 岛啤酒厂, founded in 1903 by German settlers.
